Penang Outlook Forum 2009
The Socio-Economic & Environmental Research Institute (SERI), Penang and the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS) Singapore in collaboration with Khazanah Nasional Bhd, Penang Development Corporation and Invest Penang will be organizing a Penang Outlook Forum 2009 entitled "Restructuring and Reshaping Penang".
The forum hopes to provide a platform for the assessment of Penang's past achievements, present capabilities and future growth potential. This is a most pressing and relevant question in the context of the global financial crisis and an era of rapid globalization. Revamping strategies for new growth directions and the creation of a more equitable society will also be explored as Penang strives to meet the new challenges and find its niche in the new globalized environment.
The targeted audience of the forum would be the senior management of the public and private sectors, as well as Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs). These would be at the level of Directors, Managing Directors, Chief Executive Officers, General Manager, Senior Managers, Captains of the Industries, Strategic Decision Makers, etc., from public, GLCs, Private sectors and NGOs.
